The Adventures of Zip, Zap, and Zup

Welcome to the Wandering Meadow, and the world of Zip, Zap, and Zup. Our friendly little family of ladybugs are all about adventures and learning. They might be small, but they are doing big things. Each Zip, Zap, and Zup book is a collection of three separate stories for your youngster, along with some bonus pages in the back.

You can click each book cover below to see the list of stories and some sample pages.

Zip, Zap, and Zup Activity Books

For every Adventure book we have a companion Activity Book.

Activity books are not only fun activities that keep little ones busy, they are also very useful in helping to build fine motor skills, creative problem solving, and learning how to play games with others. Since the Zip, Zap, and Zup books are designed for a broad age range, ages 5 to 8, the activities in the Activity Books vary in complexity, but there is something for every age group.

Other Children's Books

We love our little ladybugs, but we have other tales to tell as well that we think you'll really like. You can click each cover to see some of what's inside of each book.

Tulukumbou

Set in the ancient Wagadou Empire of West Africa, this fictional story begins when the Ghana, King, is presented with a problem that threatens the empire and which no one can solve. In "Tulukumbou and the Ship of the Desert" (pronounced Two-lu-come-boo), children learn that you are never too small to do important things if you are willing to think outside of the box and work hard.

Little Lumps of Clay

The classic story of the Potter and the Clay in Isaiah 64 is retold from the standpoint of the clay. Four little lumps of clay sit on a shelf in Joshua's Pottery Shop waiting to be made into something. One is enamored with the desire for beauty, one is insistent on power and strength, while another looks to significance and importance for validation. But the fourth little lump of clay is wise, and waits for the potter's master touch.

The Queen's English

Communication is more than just arbitrary utterances. The words we use are significant, and they have precise meanings. We must choose them carefully to effectively and accurately exchange ideas. In the Queen's English, the sovereign is a kind, hard-working monarch, who does well for her people. But in her quest to achieve something significant, she allows herself to be deceived by a wicked jester who has ulterior motives.

Sir Rodney

Rodney was a simple boy, who just wanted to serve the King by being a knight. When Rodney learned that becoming a knight wasn't as easy as he expected, he worked hard to do a good job. He was very observant and realized that something was not right. Suddenly, the Kingdom was in trouble and Rodney had to take a brave stand to help the King. Through his bravery the Kingdom was saved and Rodney earned his knighthood.

The Humos Trilogy

And now something for the big kids, especially those who are interested in Fantasy Genre literature. Our three book offering tells the story of a young boy and his father who are in search of a solution to their problems. The situation is dire and the problems severe, but there may be something more at work here. Something insidious.

Welcome to planet Humos, where the Sultan, who resides in the capital city of Treyanthium, is securely in control. Or is he?
